Pastor Jacob W. Jones
Was born in Gadsden, AL, in 1986, and was born again on October 15, 2000, when God filled him with the gift of the Holy Spirit in Pastor Stan Davidson's church. He started preaching and teaching Bible studies at 16 years old. However, at 19 years old, Pastor Jones joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Diego, CA, attempting to run from his calling. After a five-year enlistment and reaching the rank of E-5/Sergeant, Pastor Jones started working in the IT field. He met his beautiful wife, Michele, in 2009, who would be instrumental in getting Pastor Jones to stop running from his calling to preach the gospel. In 2011, he stopped running. Under the mentorship of Pastor Darin Sargent in Escondido, CA, Jones started preaching and teaching Bible studies again. In 2017, the SoCal District Board of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) granted a ministerial license to Pastor Jones.
In January of 2020, God began to deal with Pastor Jones about planting a church. Over the course of about 18 months, God led the Jones family to Decatur, AL, to establish River City Pentecostals. They began holding services in their living room in August of 2021. After a board meeting on December 21, 2021, River City Pentecostals became a self-governing church, and a storefront was leased a month later.
Pastor Jones has written two Bible studies that can be found on his website, and is planning to write more.
